Agricultural Aviation Exam Information

IF AN AERIAL APPLICATOR TAKES AN EXAM AND FAILS THE EXAM, THE AERIAL APPLICATOR MUST WAIT A MINIMUM OF TWO WEEKS BEFORE RETAKING THE EXAM. THE PASSING SCORE FOR ALL EXAMS IS 70%.

Exams required for a pilot’s initial licensing:

  • The General Standards exam, which covers the basic knowledge about pesticide use for commercial applicators as required by the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act of 1972.
  • The Aerial Application (Category 11) exam covers the basic knowledge concerning the application of pesticides by aircraft, and one or more of the following categories:
    • I(A) – Agricultural Plant
    • II – Forest
    • V – Aquatic
    • VI – Right-of-Way
    • VIII – Public Health

The General Standards and categories I(A)-VIII are $30.00 per booklet. The cost for the Specific Standards (Aerial Application) Category 11 is $35.00 per copy.

Agricultural Aviation has reciprocal agreements with several states concerning certification. If you have tested in one of these states, you may not have to test in Mississippi. Please keep in mind that pilots have to do some type of recertification each year. You may contact the main office at (662) 325-3390 for further information.
